SUBLIME GRATITUDE
The breath of life came unto me,
When I uttered my very first cry.
My mother gave her love to me,
My sweetest gift under the sky.
From her breast came my first feeding,
To provide for my well-being.
I received the care of a father,
Whose kindness knew no rim nor border.
I received the gift of two children,
My heartfelt thanks for this giving.
I received the benediction,
Of the Supreme Being by his action.
I received an intelligence,
Which I use to serve Science.
I received the gift of a gracious wife,
Whose bounty impregnated my life.
I received a health stout and robust,
From the Heavenly Father who is so just.
I received gifts in my existence,
From my parents and from my friends
I therefore thank the Almighty,
Creator of soul for Eternity,
Whom, as a human being, I deceived,
For all the gifts that I received.
For the sins I have committed,
I accept the sin-offering.
How great to give up everything
For the changing of the human race,
And Godly say to the Holy Grace:
I banished Evil and chose Rightly,
God! You did not create me Vainly.
