During a meeting of the NGO Committee on Freedom of Religion, Dr. Ana Lita, a native of Romania, addressed the audience.

She explained some historical features on several countries and the interaction there is between different religions: the various fratricidal wars that happened and that are still raging, unfortunately.

As an example she mentioned France, which used to be very Catholic,

Dr. Ana Lita and
Sister Marie Valerie, snd

and which has now changed a great deal on the religious point of view.

Dr. Lita also added that in general, for religious people, it is very difficult to be granted visas.

In Romania, to the contrary, Church and State are actively working together. We are Romanians because we are Orthodox, and we are Orthodox because we are Romanians.

She also explained that Greek Catholics and the Orthodox had fought for church buildings.
