News on the Chapel of the Ecce Homo & Notre Dame Monastery

WINTER 2007

To tell you about the evolution of the work at the Ecce Homo Chapel, we need to mention how the weather is currently like on the grounds, since the middle of the winter in the North of Chicago. Days of snow and freezing times have alternated with a milder period around Christmas, but our temperatures of –17°C and –32°C foreseen for this week have left us rather “frozen” for this job. A good portion of the forms have been set up on the foundations to receive the concrete for the walls of the lower level or crypt, but we are waiting for better days to proceed. In any case, work is plenty here. Snow has covered with its white coat this future site where thousands of pilgrims will come to honor Our Lord in His Passion, and we await the time God has reserved for us, when we can continue this work, for which Most Reverend Bishop Jean Marie has taken up the job of Church Builder, upon a request from Heaven.

Thank you for your faithfulness, and please help us to erect this Chapel, if you want to be granted unique graces reserved for the edification of God’s House. Do not leave your treasure where there are moths and worms, but place it in what is durable for Heaven. Where your treasure is, there also is your heart.
