It was consistent with the first sermon of Mr. Depaul and also with the Marian patronage requested by the first Charity, in 1617. It blossomed while remaining faithful to the fundamental rhythm of Vincentian inner life. It undoubtedly benefited from the Marian fervor of the XIX century, but much more even from the apparitions of 1830 to Saint Catherine Laboure.
